What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently and provide information to website owners.

Websites can also keep small pieces of data in your browser's local storage. Local storage is not a cookie, but this policy covers the values we keep there too.

02

How We Use Cookies

Cookies and similar technologies are used on our website for the following purposes:

  • Remembering your cookie choices
  • Protecting the contact form from spam
  • Understanding how you use our website, only if you accept statistics cookies
  • Measuring our advertising on LinkedIn and X, only if you accept marketing cookies

Our own code does not set any cookies. The cookies on this website are set by the third-party tools described below. This website has no user accounts, so no cookie is used to sign you in.

03

Your Consent

We use Cookiebot to ask for your consent and to record it. On your first visit, the Cookiebot banner asks which categories of cookies you accept. Until you choose, analytics and advertising storage is set to denied, and the tools that depend on it do not run.

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time through the Cookiebot widget, the small button that stays on screen on every page of this website. If you withdraw marketing consent, the page reloads so that the marketing tags stop running.

Types of Cookies We Use

Necessary Cookies

These cookies are needed for the website to work and do not require your consent. The cookie in which Cookiebot stores your cookie choices is in this category.

Preference Cookies

These cookies let a website remember choices you make, such as language or region. Our own features do not need any. Your theme choice is kept in local storage instead (see Browser Storage below).

Statistics Cookies

These cookies help us understand how visitors use our website. Google Analytics is in this category. It runs only if you accept statistics cookies.

Marketing Cookies

These cookies are used by advertising platforms to measure and target advertising. The LinkedIn Insight Tag and the X pixel are in this category. They load only if you accept marketing cookies.

05

Third-Party Tools

The following third-party tools run on our website:

  • Cookiebot: Shows the consent banner and stores your choice in a cookie, so that it does not ask again on every visit. It also holds back scripts that need your consent until you have given it.
  • Google Tag Manager: Loads and manages the measurement tags on our website. It uses Google Consent Mode. Before it loads, we set analytics and advertising storage to denied. That changes only when you give consent in the banner. When a contact form is sent, our website tells Tag Manager that a form was submitted. That event contains none of the details you entered.
  • Google Analytics: Measures how our website is used. It is loaded through Google Tag Manager and runs only after you accept statistics cookies.
  • LinkedIn Insight Tag: A marketing tag from LinkedIn. It tells LinkedIn that a visit to our website took place, which lets us measure our advertising there. It loads only after you accept marketing cookies.
  • X pixel: A marketing tag from X (formerly Twitter). It tells X that a visit to our website took place, which lets us measure our advertising there. It loads only after you accept marketing cookies.
  • Google reCAPTCHA v3: Protects the contact form from spam. It runs on the contact page, and the form cannot be sent without it. When you send the form, a reCAPTCHA token and your IP address are sent to Google, which returns a score. If Google scores the submission as likely spam, it is rejected and nothing is stored. Google may set cookies as part of this check. The Google Privacy Policy (opens in a new tab) and Terms of Service (opens in a new tab) apply.
06

Browser Storage

Our website also keeps two values in your browser's local storage. They are not cookies. They stay in your browser and are not sent to us.

  • Theme preference: If you switch between the light and dark theme, your choice is saved under the name "theme-preference", so that the website looks the same on your next visit. It stays until you clear your browser's site data. If you never switch, nothing is saved and the website follows your device setting.
  • Contact form reminder: After you send the contact form, the time of sending is saved under the name "contact_submitted_at". It holds only the time, not what you wrote. For the next 24 hours the website shows the thank-you message instead of the form. The value is removed when you open the form after those 24 hours, or when you choose "Send another message".
07

Managing Cookies

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time through the Cookiebot widget on any page of this website.

You can also control cookies in your browser. Most browsers allow you to:

  • View what cookies are stored and delete them individually
  • Block third-party cookies
  • Block cookies from particular sites
  • Block all cookies from being set
  • Delete all cookies when you close your browser

Clearing your browser's site data also removes the two local storage values described above. If you block Google reCAPTCHA, the contact form cannot be sent. You can email us instead at hello@savvyscale.io.
